Terms of service
Last updated 10 August 2026
These terms apply when you use Qayd. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
The service
Qayd is software for managing an intellectual property practice: trademark and patent records, deadlines and reminders, documents, and billing.
Qayd is a tool, not a law firm. It does not provide legal advice, and the deadlines it calculates do not replace your own professional judgement. You remain responsible for every filing and every deadline in your clients' matters.
Early access
Qayd is currently offered to a limited group of founding agencies. During this period, features may change, and we may contact you for feedback about how the product works in practice.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity that happens under your account.
You must give accurate account information and keep it current. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been used without authorisation.
You are responsible for the team members you invite and the access levels you grant them.
Acceptable use
Do not use Qayd to break the law, to store or distribute malicious code, or to attempt to gain access to another firm's data.
Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or resell the service without our written agreement.
Your data
The client and matter records your firm enters remain your firm's property. We claim no ownership over them.
You grant us the limited permission needed to host and process that data so we can provide the service to you.
You can export your data, and you can ask us to delete it. Our handling of personal data is described in the privacy policy.
Availability and support
We work to keep Qayd available and reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, faults, and events outside our control can interrupt access.
Reminders and notifications depend on services we do not control, such as email delivery. Treat them as an aid, not as your only safeguard against a missed deadline.
Fees
Fees, billing period, and what is included are agreed with you before your subscription starts. Unless stated otherwise, fees are in UAE dirhams and exclude VAT.
We will give you notice before any change to your fees.
Ending the agreement
You may stop using Qayd and close your account at any time.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. Where circumstances allow, we will give you notice and a reasonable opportunity to export your data first.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Qayd is provided as is, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of business arising from your use of the service.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and the courts of the UAE have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product develops. We will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you directly about material changes. Continuing to use Qayd after a change means you accept the updated terms.
